What was the inspiration behind opening Beech Hill Barn as a wedding venue?

Beech Hill is our forever home, and as our children, nieces, and nephews were becoming engaged and looking for a venue, specifically a barn, we thought, why not! With lots of open space and amazing views of the Maine countryside, we wanted to open up our home so that others could experience this beautiful and private space to create memories with their loved ones.

What makes your venue unique?

Beech Hill Barn is nestled on a very private hilltop with incredible views of the rolling hills, fields, and forests. The property features two barns, the country house with pool and hot tub, the 1832 farmhouse, the oak grove ceremony site with an arbor and benches, the east field for tented or open-air dinner receptions and lawn games, barn bathrooms, catering tent, parking area for guests, as well as custom-built farm tables, bar, silver metal bistro chairs and more. With a three-night stay for up to 24 guests, couples can relax and spend time with their closest family and friends. With all that is included and the extra barn for cocktail hour or a back-up plan for inclement weather, we pretty much have you covered. Bring in your personal touches with tableware, flowers, and catering of your choice to make it uniquely your own!

What is advice that you give to all of your couples?

We highly recommend hiring the assistance of a wedding planner for their Beech Hill Barn wedding. We advise people to take time to relax and take in all that the property has to offer while making memories that will stay with them forever. Celebrate each other and enjoy all that you have planned for your wedding weekend.

What do you see as the added value to hiring a wedding planner or coordinator?

Planning a wedding comes with a lot of unknown territory for the couple, which is why working with a wedding planner—who knows the industry and has been through this many times before—makes things far easier. A wedding planner is focused only on your special day and will push to make sure everything goes according to your unique plan. Planners have built-in relationships with vendors and can assist with everything from the timeline, best use of the space, coordinating vendors as they arrive on-site, and so much more. Your planner is focused on helping you juggle all the little details that will make your special day so special.
