Blush and Navy Wedding at Granite Ridge Estate

Alyssa and Nathan couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather for their big day at the Granite Ridge Estate. This day was 10 years in the making and the couple couldn't have been more excited to finally tie the knot. In the presence of everyone they love, they exchanged rings and said "I do" in front of a wooden arbor adorned with beautiful blooms, thanks to Mimi and Mum. For cocktail hour, guests were treated to not only signature drinks, but also the stunning view from the barn. Guests were then ushered into the barn for the big reveal, where they were able to blissfully enjoy the air conditioning. The bride and groom were announced to the bar with DJ Khaled’s song “All I Do is Win,” which served as a great indicator of the fun that would come for the rest of the night! The Music Man played all the classic throwbacks that kept people on the dance floor the entire night.. Whoopie pies from A Little Suga were served for dessert and a bit later Dandelion Catering put out boxes of french fries for a late night pick-me-up to keep the party going. It's safe to say that this crowd knew how to celebrate the right way! Alyssa & Nathan ended the night with one final dance surrounded by their closest family and friends. It was definitely a night they (and the whole vendor team) will remember forever!

MEET THE COUPLE

How did you and your partner meet?

Nate and I met almost 10 years ago to the day from our wedding date. 16 and 17, we went to the same high school but had never actually met until we were introduced by one of my good friends. When we started dating, my friends became his, and his mine; And we are so lucky to have had those same people be at our wedding this summer! We chose to go to different colleges, USM for Nate and Umaine Orono for me, but we made the most of it with trips during our breaks, and visiting each other on weekends either up North hiking and exploring near me, or galavanting around portland where Nate lived. I ultimately ended up moving here after I graduated, we got a cute chocolate lab named Moose, bought our house right here in Portland, and got engaged on our first international trip together to Scotland.

What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?

Nate says his favorite part of the wedding day was the ceremony when he got to see me coming down the long aisle at granite ridges’ outdoor ceremony site. Celine worked with our florist and made sure the setup was exactly what I had envisioned, and it was perfect. My favorite parts of the day were cocktail hour and entering the reception. We extended our cocktail hour from the standard 1 hour so that after we finished up photos, we could take in all of the scenery, decor, and eat some delicious food while socializing with guests before dinner. Celine did a great job helping me decide on my layout for cocktail hour, and set up all of my decor absolutely perfectly, despite poor instructions from me creativity is not my strong suit). Walking into the reception was also a highlight for me. Standing at the barn doors watching our wedding party roll in and be introduced was amazing, and we got to get the full scene of the barn decked out with its beautiful picture window, and all of our guests at their tables smiling. It was our first view of the inside of the barn completely set up and it was absolutely perfect.

What was your favorite part of having a planner from PMP?

While I had most of the big things planned (vendors, color scheme, food, etc), Celine was making sure I had all of the small things checked off. During the planning calls she would give me tasks to complete that I hadn’t even thought of. Additionally, being so type A, I was thrilled with Celine’s timeline that was down to the minute with details for our weekend. I would have truly been lost without it.
