Sunday Six : What to Include on your Wedding Website

WHAT TO INCLUDE ON YOUR WEDDING WEBSITE-make it easy for you and your guests

1. Your wedding’s location and directions

The first thing any guest is going to want to know is where your wedding is located. Additionally, anyone commuting to the location will need detailed instructions. You don’t want people calling you for directions on your wedding day! If there are specific parking instructions or travel advisories, include them.

2. Things to do

Likely, your wedding isn’t small enough that everyone will be with you the whole weekend. Include a list of local restaurants, shopping areas, parks/walks, and other things for your guests to do in their free time. If your hotel is providing specific accommodations or activities for your guests, then include them here.

3. Where to stay

If you are reserving a block of rooms for guests, include that info. You will want to include the hotel’s name, street address, website, phone number, and, if possible, the information of the employee helping you at the hotel. You must remember to list rates, discount codes, and a deadline, if applicable. Update the info with other accommodations if the rooms sell out. Additionally, make sure you include any airports near to the hotel as well as transportation services like Uber or a hotel shuttle.

4. Wedding weekend schedule

Guests love to be told where to be, so you best include your ceremony and reception start times, as well as cocktail hour. If you have any other guest-wide events like an after-party or morning-after brunch, then include them here. If you are having private events, then make sure you don’t include them on the site, so you don’t have any unexpected guests!

5. Registry details

Most people will say that your wedding website is the only appropriate place to include your registry information - not even on your invitation! All you need to do is include the store names or logos where you are registered - your guests should be able to figure out the rest!

6. Wedding guest photo app info

If you are using a wedding guest photo-sharing app like Wedshoots or TheGuest, provide the app information with a download link as well as your custom code. Both you and your guests will love looking at the images after the wedding!
