Breathtaking Destination Wedding in Maine

Maggie and Kevin brought the midwest to Maine over Memorial Day weekend for a magical wedding. With guests mostly coming from Ohio and Illinois, the couple hosted friends and family in one of their favorite vacation spots - Kennebunkport. Maggie’s family vacationed here for the majority of her life, so it held a very special place in her heart.

Picture Perfect Ceremony

The Colony’s ocean-front property provided the perfect backdrop for a seaside ceremony on the historic hotel gardens. A bagpiper walked the aisle in memory of Maggie’s late father, adding the perfect reminder that he was there in spirit to watch his beautiful daughter marry the love of her life. Kevin and Maggie proceeded to exchange meaningful and personalized vows, adding to the perfect celebration of love.

An Elegant Celebration

The celebration continued on the hotel’s front lawn with a cocktail hour. After that, the reception began in the Colony’s grand ballroom. No detail was forgotten here. Beautiful draping and lighting was adorned the room thanks to Event Lighting Concepts. Minka Flowers presented stunning pieces throughout all aspects of the day, and the dinner tables were no exception. Garden Gate Lettering added the perfect touch by hand lettering hexagon acrylic place cards for each guest that we placed alongside knotted napkins. Every detail created a romantic evening for the couple and their guests.

Explosive Entertainment

The party really started when East Coast Soul took the stage and had everyone on the dance floor throughout the remainder of the night. But the night wasn’t complete without one final detail - fireworks for the new Mr. and Mrs. Buckman and all of their amazing guests!

Meet the bride: Maggie

How did you and your husband meet?

Through mutual friends at Ohio University in 2006.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

Our first look and the fireworks! It was magic and everything we'd hoped for on our wedding day. So much happiness!

Favorite part about having a wedding planner :) ?

Where do we begin...A LOT of things. Honestly, couldn't imagine having this wedding without your team. Considering we knew nothing about wedding planning, your expertise was so valuable. Being from out of town, your connections with various vendors was excellent as well. The thing that stands out to us the most is the calmness we felt in the weeks leading up to our wedding. You had everything under control and all we had to do was enjoy the celebration. Feeling relaxed was our FAVORITE part of having a wedding planner like YOU. <3
